Rosemary Kane, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away suddenly on June 5th at the age of 92.
Born April 5, 1934, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Pauline Otterberg.
Rosemary raised her family in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, moved to Harrisburg in 1981, and has resided at Shannondell at Valley Forge since 2016.
She lived a life filled with laughter, friendship, and a deep love for her family. Known for her spirited personality and welcoming smile, she never missed an opportunity to enjoy the things that brought her joy. Whether she was trying her luck at the casino, rolling strikes at the bowling alley, competing on the bocce court, or gathering around the table for a lively game of poker, she brought enthusiasm and good humor wherever she went.
Beyond her hobbies, Rosemary was dedicated to helping others. She proudly volunteered with Meals on Wheels, delivering not only meals but also kindness, companionship, and a friendly face to those in need. Her generosity and compassion touched countless lives throughout the years.
Family was the center of her world. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. Her home was a place of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories, where everyone felt welcome.
She will be remembered for her strong spirit, her caring heart, her quick wit, and her ability to bring people together. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of kindness, joy, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew and loved her.
Rosemary was the beloved wife of 67 years of Edward A. Kane; loving mother of Edward Kane, Jr. (Donna), Mary Jo Palaia (Richard), and Carolyn DiLossi (Louis); adoring grandmother of Ashley Palaia (Tony Desiderio), Rick Palaia (Kelly), Alyssa Duym (Thomas), Domenique DiLossi (Mickey Hendrickson), Brandon Palaia (Olivia Schlierf), Michael DiLossi (Jenn Garris), Dylan Kane(Alana), and Gabriella DiLossi (Cole Ward); and proud great-grandmother of Lincoln, Mason, Lilia, Ray, Beckett, Roman, Vinny, Millie, and Amelia. She was predeceased by her brothers: Joseph Jorgenson and John Otterberg.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation, Friday, June 12th, 2026, 8:45 AM to 9:45 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1260 South Trooper Rd, Norristown, PA 19403, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
The family would like to thank all those who cared for and supported Rosemary throughout her life. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Brandywine Valley SPCA, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380.
