Rose C. Rogers of Wayne, PA passed away peacefully on May, 25, 2025 at the age of 100. Born in 1924 in NYC, she was the daughter of the late Carlo and Vincenza Sculco.
Rose was the valedictorian of her high school class, earning medals in both math and Latin. She earned a scholarship to Hunter College where she also graduated with honors. She spent a few years teaching before she met the love of her life, David Rogers while vacationing at Lake George, NY. They were married for 56 yrs before his passing in 2010.
She enjoyed travel and summer vacations at the Jersey shore. Her hobbies included tennis, bridge, gardening, painting, and especially reading. Rose kept up with the news and always began her mornings with the NY Times crossword puzzle.
She was an active parishioner at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Strafford, PA. Rose loved to cook and was happiest when she had family gathered together for good food and conversation. Rose is survived by her loving children; Laura (Thomas) Smith, Mark (Tristana) Rogers and Mary (Ross) Ammon along with her 6 adored grandchildren: Madeline (Mark Vecchione), Antonia Smith, Colin (Nikki) Ammon, Max Ammon, Ariana Rogers, Teo Rogers and a great grandson, Calvin Vecchione.
A private graveside service will be held on June 6, 2025.
