Rose Murphy

Rose Theresa Murphy (nee Breslin), age 81, of Newtown Square, PA passed away on May 31, 2021. Born in Ardara, Donegal, Ireland, she was the daughter of Con and Mary Breslin (nee Boyle).

Rose left Ireland at the age of 16.  After two years working in London, she came to the United States and settled in Philadelphia.  She worked at Horn & Hardart and Stouffer’s Restaurant in Center City.  She was a long-time member of St. Anastasia’s Parish in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.

Rose was predeceased by her sisters Mary, Nora, and Bridget, and her brother Edward. She is survived by her husband Michael and sons Michael (Moiya) and Mark (Becky), grandchildren Emily, Patrick, Grace, Hugh, and Margaret; brother Francie and sisters Loretta Kenny, Annie Gavigan, and Philomena Martin; and lots of nephews, nieces, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 6-8 PM Friday, June 4, 2021 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-353-6300 and to her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Saturday at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073.
