Roberta Lynn Manley (née Rhodes), 71, of West Chester, PA, passed away on December 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Grove City, PA in 1954, Roberta was the daughter of the late Raymond C. and Clara Lou (née Gates) Rhodes. She graduated from Geneva College and the Chester County School of Nursing. She dedicated her life and career to taking care of others. She spent 38 years as a critical care nurse at Chester County Hospital. She was a caring and nurturing mother and grandmother. She was the family go-to person to call for every ailment or medical question.
Roberta found joy in the simple, quiet parts of life— a crossword puzzle, a good book, the comfort of something baking in a warm kitchen, and her daily walks outdoors. Whether it was summer vacations on the coast of Maine or her nature walks, she found peace being outdoors. She loved animals, and her family enjoyed pictures of animals found on her walks. She especially loved her corgis and cats who she spoiled over the years.
She had a strong commitment to her faith and was an active member of Community Bible Study, where she found fellowship and lasting friendships.
Above all, Roberta cherished time with her grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. She took great interest in the things they loved; always encouraging their individuality.
Roberta was the beloved wife, for 49 years, of John A, Manley, Jr.; loving mother of Sarah Wark (Michael), Michael Manley (Dana) and Bryan Manley; devoted grandmother of Grady, Nate, Vincenzo, Natalia, Giovanna and Miabella; and dear sister of Steven Rhodes (Margaret) and Richard Rhodes (Vicki). She is also survived by nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Roberta’s life at her visitation on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 5:00–8:00 PM, and again on Monday from 9:30–10:30 AM, followed by her Funeral Service at 10:30 AM at the Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA. Interment will be private.
