Roberta H. Bowers

Roberta H. (nee Hallowell) Bowers, 82, of Havertown, PA passed away on March 23, 2026.

Roberta was a graduate of Haverford Senior High School in Havertown, PA. She attended Temple University in Philadelphia and went on to work as a caseworker for 30 years with the State of Pennsylvania Department of Public Assistance.

Roberta performed her duties as a caseworker, entering sometimes into dangerous neighborhoods to be of service to her clients. She extended herself to her clients to help them sometimes shortchanging herself in the process.

After working for the Public Assistance Office, Roberta started a new pursuit in continuing her education, She attended Immaculata University and graduated with a Bachelors of Music in Music Therapy.

Roberta worked as a Music Therapist, working with children in several schools in Delaware County, PA. She loved the interactions with the children, introducing them to a variety of instruments. In addition, she introduced the children to music from many different cultures and traditions. She loved working with the children and they loved her back in countless ways.

In addition to being a Music Therapist, Roberta was a professional singer. She was hired for many private venues. Music and working with children were her raison d'être.

Roberta had a tremendous heart and was always kind to others. She was a sensitive, kind, intelligent, and caring person; she lived her faith.

Roberta enjoyed trips to Cape May, NJ and enjoyed sitting by the ocean watching the wildlife.

She loved dogs, especially her dogs, Winnie, a Scottie, and Skippy, a Jack Russell Terrier.

Roberta once said, “I experience the world through music. Music is my passion.”

Roberta is survived by her brother, David, 3 nieces, JoAnne, Dawn, and Jennifer, and her nephew, David, as well as, a great grandniece, Tara and 3 great great grandnieces.

An Episcopal Burial of the Dead will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 2:00 PM at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 104 Louella Ave, Wayne, PA 19087. The burial will be private at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Ardmore, PA.
