Robert F. Hawkins

Robert F. Hawkins passed away on June 29, 2025 at the age of 72. Beloved son to the late Charles J. and Rosella A. (Nee Planthaber) Hawkins, Sr.

Robert was born on September 24, 1952, and graduated from West Catholic High School for Boys, followed by technical school to become a computer programmer. He then went to work for Philadelphia Gas Works where he remained until retirement.

Robert was not only a dedicated family member but also an avid enthusiast of the outdoors. He found joy in kayaking, fishing, and gardening, often using these hobbies as a way to bring family together and create lasting bonds. His love for nature mirrored the warmth he showed to those around him.

In addition to his many interests, Robert was known for his heartfelt devotion to his family, particularly his nieces and nephews, who were adored by him. His nurturing spirit and genuine love touched the lives of all who knew him, and his playful character brought joy to countless family gatherings.

Robert leaves behind his siblings Barbara A. Homann (Jack), John Hawkins, Sr. (Marie), along with many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister Rosemarie Husty and brother Charles J. Hawkins Jr.

A visitation will be held on July 3, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 2:00 PM, at Donohue Funeral Home located at 8401 W. Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082. This gathering will provide family and friends an opportunity to celebrate the life of Robert and share fond memories of a man who was truly special to so many.
