Robert Allen “Al” Fleetwood, age 83, of Morton, PA, passed away on October 20, 2025. Born in Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Daniel Wilson and Cora Fleetwood (nee Adams).
After graduating from Chichester High School, Al served his country in the U.S. Army as a medical corpsman for three years. He then attended and graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.
For most of his life, Al worked as a union painter, where he frequently found himself at unique and interesting jobsites. His experiences on the job provided him with countless stories, which he often shared with his family, recounting memorable tales about his coworkers and the various places they painted.
Al was an easy conversationalist and a man with a tireless sense of wry humor. He loved to fish – whether it was in the crick as a young boy, in a boat down the shore, or on the occasions when he was able to travel to Canada for a fishing getaway. His daily ritual of drowning his coffee with whole milk (fondly known as “regulation milk”) and many spoonfuls of sugar remained a mainstay throughout his life. He was definitely a one of a kind character.
Al loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He looked forward to his long drives to Florida to visit his son Jeff and the grandchildren and would often greet them with hugs and doughnuts.
He took great pride in all of his grandchildren’s achievements: Jillian’s art, Jeff’s baseball, Jackie’s dance, and was especially proud of Allison’s progress at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine, and Lindsay’s enrollment at Bryn Mawr College’s School of Social Work. He always talked about his grandchildren.
Al was the beloved husband of Johanna Fleetwood (nee Puscian); loving father of Patricia Fleetwood (Ann-Therese Ortiz) and Jeffrey Fleetwood (Tanya Coon); adoring grandfather of Allison and Lindsay Klenk and Jillian, Jeffrey, and Jacquelyn Fleetwood; brother of James Fleetwood and the late Daniel Wilson Fleetwood, Jr.
Family and friends are invited to Al’s Visitation 10:30-11:30 AM on Monday, October 27, 2025 at The Knoetgen-Donohue Funeral Home, 746 Kedron Ave, Morton, PA 19070, followed by his Memorial Service at 11:30 AM. Interment Private.
