Robert Paul Eldredge of West Chester, Pa. and formerly of Punta Gorda, Fla. and New London, Ct., died August 22nd 2025 after a long battle with Parkinson’s.
He was born November 9, 1940, in Malden Ma. to Sanford and Lenora Eldredge. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Cynthia Marie Eldredge and his first wife Theresa Mary Hart. Robert earned a bachelor of science degree in Biology from Northeastern University. In 1963, he joined the U.S. Army where he honorably served during the Vietnam war, earning the rank of captain. During the last year of his service, Robert did several tours in Southeast Asia.
After discharge from the service in 1968, Robert worked in his chosen field of laboratory science as a clinical chemist with sub-specialties in hematology, urinalysis, and microbiology. In 1979 he joined Tuggle Medical Laboratory (aka Tuggle Medicalab), serving the communities of New London, Norwich, Old Lyme, Waterford, and Groton, and Westerly, R.I. After over 20 years in laboratory sciences, he followed his passion for boats and founded the Marine Service Company, known as Marseco. In 1998 he relocated to Punta Gorda, Fl. where he continued his marine servicing company until he retired in 2021.
Robert is survived by his brother, Donald Eldredge, and his loving children; Stephen Eldredge and his wife Maria, John Eldredge and his wife Laura, and Alison Musumeci and her husband Dominic. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren. Robert enjoyed his love for boating, tennis, and ice hockey. Mostly, he loved to spend time with family and friends telling funny stories and playing games. Robert is deeply missed by all who loved him.
Arrangements for a military ceremony and burial at Sarasota National Cemetery are planned Monday November 24, 2025.
