Robert J. "Bob" Valent, D.D.S., age 90, of Upper Darby, PA, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on July 22, 2018. Born in Lansford, PA, he was the son of the late Peter and Susan Valent (nee Dolak).
Dr. Valent was a graduate of St. Joseph University, the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University Dental School.
He served in both the United States Army and the United States Navy.
Dr. Valent was a Dental Surgeon in the health clinics for the City of Philadelphia.
He attended the Fleisher Art School where he took classes in sculpting and art.
He was very active in the No. 9 Coal Mine and Museum in Lansford, PA.
He was also active in the Penn Central Legion Post 204 in Lansford, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Helen Strickland and Kathryn Bendsen.
He is survived by 4 nieces and nephews, 8 grandnieces and grandnephews and 14 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday, July 27, 2018 9:30-10:00 AM St. Laurence Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA and to his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM.
Interment St. Michael's Old Cemetery, Lansford, PA.
