Richard "Dick" James Nagle, 92, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 18, 2023. He was born April 29, 1931, in Germantown, PA to Florence and Furman Nagle and was the oldest of their four children. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Furman “Pud” Nagle.
After graduating from St. Joseph’s Preparatory School and attending Temple University, Dick entered the United States Army in 1950. Dick served in Korea and Germany. He applied and was accepted into Officers Candidate School and was a proud member of Class 11-52.
Upon completion of his Army service, Dick began a rewarding career in water treatment. As President of Betz Entec, Inc., he delighted in working with wonderful people. Retirement presented more freedom for grandchildren, gardening, bridge, and travel.
Dick is survived by his soul mate and wife of 64 years, Mary Louise; two sisters, Mary Bell and Roseanne Ziff; children Deborah, Mark, Christopher (Brenda), Kathleen, and Rita; and his grandchildren Gregory (Robin), Chloe, Richard (Valeri), Julia, Liam, Niall, Nora, and Phoebe.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held at Donohue Funeral Home in Wayne, PA on Tuesday, May 30 from 5 to 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held in Dick’s honor at St. Norbert’s Church in Paoli on Wednesday, May 31 at 10 AM. The Nagle family will receive guests from 9 AM until the start of Mass. The Mass will be livestreamed at 10:00AM at this link.
