Richard P. Keeley

Richard P. Keeley, known to most as Dick, of Downingtown, PA, passed away at the age of 86 on December 19, 2025. Dick was born March 2, 1939 to William and Helen (nee Walsh) Keeley in West Philadelphia. He had an older brother William Sr. Keeley and younger sister Catherine Keeley.

Dick graduated from Villanova University with a degree in Economics. After graduation he became a commissioned officer in the US Marine Corps. He served our country for 12 years and rose to the rank of Captain.

Dick is survived by his loving wife Sue of 64 years. Dick and Sue had nine children: Jacqueline Woodland, Richard Keeley, Michael Keeley, Brian Keeley, Dennis Keeley, Bethanne McGregor, Kevin Keeley, Matthew Keeley, and the late Sharon Rittenhouse. He also had 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Dick spent nearly 25 years at Xerox and a few other companies before retiring in 1999. He then spent his last 25 years as a clerk of the courts for the Chester County Prothonotary Office.

Dick loved all sports but especially basketball, softball and golf. He loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He rarely missed a game and was their #1 fan! Dick was a talkative storyteller too. He would talk to anyone anywhere. He loved his family so much. Everything he did was for his wife Sue and children. Most of all, he was a loving husband, beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be missed so much. Rest in Peace.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9:30 AM to 11:15 AM, Monday, December 29, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Church 110 Saint Elizabeth Drive, Chester Springs, PA 19425, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM. Interment at Oaklands Cemetery, West Chester.
