Richard David Carcanague, 78, of West Chester, PA passed away on October 2, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1946, he was the son of late Robert and Hannah (née Inglesby) Carcanague.
Richard was the beloved husband, for 56 years, of Barbara (née Miccarelli); loving father of Charleen Betz (Robert), Michael (Margaret) and Christopher (Christine); proud grandfather of Nicolette, Cody, Kevin, Kaitlin, Sarah and Abby; great-grandfather of Cheyenne and Chase; dear brother of Regina Brady, Robert, Jr. and Thomas (Margaret). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Richard worked as a Mechanical Engineer Technician for Widener University. He was a member of the 709 Penn Lodge, where he was a 32nd degree Mason and volunteered as a crew member for Philadelphia Tall Ship Gazelle for 10 years.
He was a true outdoorsman, who loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was a member of the Delaware Valley Field and Stream. Most of all, he loved vacationing with his family, spending time with his grandchildren and traveling with his family, his wife and their best friends, Vince and Rose Grisafi.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM Monday, October 14, 2024 followed by his Funeral Service 12:00 Noon at The Donohue Funeral Home, West Chester, PA. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
