Richard Scott Andress Jr.

Richard “Scott” Andress Jr., 51, of Downingtown, PA passed away in his home on May 3, 2023.

Scott was loved and is survived by his parents, Richard S. and Karen (née McMahon); Andress; his wife, Michelle L. (née DeGrand); his children, Lucas Scott Andress and Katelyn Allen Andress; and his siblings, Tracey Andress Resto (Erwin), Megan Andress Lydon (Philip) and Christopher Andress (Michelle). Scott is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews.

Scott was a proud graduate of Upper Darby Senior High School in Drexel Hill and Saint

Joseph’s University’s Erivan K. Haub School of Business in Philadelphia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance.

Scott enjoyed a successful career working with technology firms focusing on sales, business development, strategy, and finance. He began his career in this sector in 2000 when he helped to create a successful software company, Compoze Software Inc. Compoze helped companies integrate and streamline their email, calendaring, and task list functionalities and was acquired by BEA Systems, Inc. in 2005. This acquisition helped launch Scott’s career in the IT sector where he continued to work tirelessly structuring deals and creating lucrative partnerships with numerous organizations as they sought to implement large data solutions for their clients over the next 15 years.

His most recent engagement was with an enterprise data cloud company named Cloudera, where he was honored for his continued demonstration of exemplary leadership, influence, innovation, and growth for the IT sector in 2020.

In his free time Scott enjoyed golf, traveling and spending time at the beach.
