In Loving Memory of Rhona “Mother” Melvina Fraser

March 14, 1922 – May 24, 2025

It is with deep love and profound respect that we announce the passing of Rhona “Mother” Fraser, who departed this life peacefully on May 24, 2025, at the remarkable age of 103.

Born on March 14, 1922 in Fancy, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, to the late William Fraser and Marion Dolphin, Mother witnessed over a century of change, progress, and history. She resided in Georgetown until 1985 when she immigrated to the United States.

Mother lived a rich and meaningful life. She became a nurse who specialized in midwifery for 41 years and was well known in the Georgetown community as “Nuss Fraser”. When mother wasn’t delivering babies and like she would say she delivered “plenty”, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening in her spare time. Mother was known to be strong-willed, generous and one who always expressed immense gratitude. When asked what’s the secret to a long life she would reply “always take care of yourself” and “you have to be satisfied”.

Mother is survived by children Gideon (Isabelle) Lewis, Delwin (Gwendolyn) Lewis, Kelson (Yolanda) Fraser and Vatsy Fraser and predeceased by Glendon and Pamela Fraser. Mother also acknowledged Linford “Socko” Lewis and Ingrid Tannis as her children. She was a proud grandmother to Hadassa, Tashanique, Lisa, Shanika, Karlson, Patrice and Monique and great-grandmother to Karl, Naomi, Karlson Jr., Madison, McKenzie, Kuavo, Mya, Sophia, Gabrielle, Kjay, Heinz and Tyanna. Her love extended to Taylor, Alexa, Mikayla and Jayda. Rhona was one of ten siblings and leaves behind her sister Sevoir. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters Ina, Walter, Hilary, Cornliff, Julian, Herman, Jemmie, Arthur, and Vennol.

Though Mother has left this world, the light of Mother’s life continues to shine in the hearts of all who loved her. The family appreciates the love and support of the many friends of our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt as we navigate our lives without her.

Relatives and friends are invited to Rhona's viewing on Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Michael's Church 813 Longacre Boulevard, Yeadon, PA. followed by her funeral service at 11:00 AM.
