Raymond McCaffrey

Raymond B. “Benny” McCaffrey, 95, of Wilmington, DE (formerly of Morton, Pa) passed away on December 5, 2021. He was the loving son of the late Raymond and Jane (nee Dodds) McCaffrey.

Benny was previously employed as a detective for the Ridley Township Police Department. He was an avid gun and coin collector. Benny was a photography fanatic (both developing and printing) and enjoyed going to both Atlantic City & Dover Downs Casino’s. He also liked to attend Phillies games when possible. He managed to visit all 50 states and loved Alaska the most. Benny was a loving, witty, easygoing and friendly man who got a kick out of playing practical jokes on people. He was a devoted family man who cherished the time that he spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Benny is survived by his beloved wife Helen B. McCaffrey (nee Brzozowski) loving children Marie Sellitto (Dennis), Michael R. McCaffrey (Cheryl), Sharon A. Bush (late Charles), Raymond “Butch” McCaffrey (Barb) and Patrick J. McCaffrey (Janice). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren & 14 great-grandchildren whom he adored.

Family and friends are invited to his Visitation on Friday December 10, 2021 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 2130 Franklin Ave. Morton, Pa from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment: SS Peter & Paul Cemetery
