Randolph D. Epler (Randy) of Elverson, Pa, passed away on April 11, 2026.
Born in Reading, Pa November 3, 1946, son of Robert and Gladys (Lutz) Epler.
Randy spent his early years surrounded by family, with cousins being his first best friends growing up in Mohnton, Pa.
Randy attended and graduated from Governor Mifflin High School in 1964 where he played baseball and football, he graduated from Elizabethtown College in 1968 where school got in his way, all he wanted to do was get out on the baseball diamond. He received a post graduate degree from Penn State University.
Randy taught at Twin Valley High School for 35 of the best years of his life. Twin Valley sports were his passion, he coached soccer, and baseball and initiated the football program, ending his career as the Athletic Director.
Randy was a second-generation New York Yankees fan, following in his father’s footsteps. He loved the beach, any beach. He and his wife traveled extensively to beaches across the country and the Caribbean.
Randy had a big smile and a bigger heart for everyone he met. He loved his Lord and his church family; he was very active in the church.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, MaryJo, two sons, Douglas Delanoy (Victoria) and Drew Delanoy (Jessica), one granddaughter, Rory Delanoy; daughter, Leigh, and her 3 children, and one brother, Keith (Judy). He was predeceased by his parents, one sister, Jeanne, and son, Jason Epler.
Randy would like to recognize and thank his care team at Abramson Cancer Center, Chester County Hospital, West Chester, Pa for the over-the-top care he received there. His doctor and nurses and support staff are second to none. He had a very positive experience. His care team made the best of a not so good situation. Your presence and support mean the most. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to The Abramson Cancer Center, CCH Foundation, 701 East Marshall Street, West Chester, Pa 19380.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation and memorial service Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Harmony United Methodist Church, 740 Harmony Road, Morgantown, Pa. Visitation 10:00-11:30, memorial service 11:30AM with Pastor John DiGiamberardino officiating. Interment will be private.
