Ralph Willard Marsh, 80 of West Chester, PA passed away September 18, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Born September 20, 1941, in Frederick, MD., he was a son of the late Ralph Windsor and Virginia (nee Kepler) Marsh.
Ralph was the beloved husband of the late Alice T. Marsh; loving father of Suzanne M. Cox; adoring grandfather of Tyler M. Cox (Amanda J.) and Matthew W. Cox; and dear great grandfather of River T. Cox. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Susan T. Magdelain and Susan K. Tomlin. He was predeceased by his daughter Cynthia W. Marsh, his grandson Ryan William Cox and his brother William R. Marsh.
Ralph was a longtime resident of West Chester. He graduated from Lower Merion High School and from Villanova University. In 1965 he began a life insurance sales career with Penn Mutual in Philadelphia. After several management positions in Philadelphia and Charlotte, NC Ralph joined The Hirshorn Company in Chestnut Hill, PA as Director of Employee Benefits in 1984.
In 1983 Ralph began working at horse shows as an announcer. He announced shows up and down the East Coast. Ralph was known fondly as the voice of Chester County. He especially enjoyed spending his winters announcing at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL.
Ralph enjoyed spending time at his grandson’s football and baseball games always with a front row seat. Being a season ticket holder for Villanova Basketball, he rarely missed a game.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church, 130 W. Miner St, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:30 AM. Interment is private.
