Rachela E. Pilla

Rachela E. “Rae” Pilla (née Mascioli), passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Rae is survived by her beloved daughter, Laura E. Zebley (James), her loving grandson, Andrew Zebley (Hannah), her precious two great-grandsons, Miles and Clark, her dear sister, Laura Nicosia, as well her nieces, nephews, and friends. She is also predeceased by her cherished husband, Angelo, her loving daughter, Karen, her parents, Cristoforo and Giacinta (née DiLucci) Mascioli, her brother Alessandro Mascioli and her sister, Philomena VanDerzee.  

Rae grew up in South Philly and spent her entire insurance career working at various companies before retiring from Alexander & Alexander in 1992. Angelo and Rae moved to Clearwater, Florida after retirement and were members of the Italian American Club there. She and Angelo returned to Pennsylvania and settled in Delaware County with her daughter and family.

Rae also shared her family’s passion for all Philadelphia sports teams. She loved trips to any casino, playing bingo and pokeno and was an expert pinochle player.

Rae’s biggest joy was her family. Most Sundays included a fabulous Italian meal and time together. Her favorite person was her grandson, Andrew, and now his two little boys. Mom Mom and Andrew had a wonderful trip to Disney World together and made lasting memories.

Family and friends are invited to Rae’s Services beginning with a Viewing on Thursday, April 23, 2026, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by her Funeral Mass, commencing at 10:30 AM. Interment thereafter at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
