Peter L. Grimaldi, of Broomall, PA, a dedicated educator whose career spanned four decades, sadly passed away on June 14, 2026 at the age of 75.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Louis and Agatha (née Roccamo) Grimaldi.
Throughout his 40-year tenure, Peter devoted his life to the advancement of knowledge and the enrichment of countless students at Chester High School. His professional journey was marked by a profound commitment to teaching English, computer information technology, and leading the gifted program with exceptional care and dedication.
Beyond the classroom, Peter was known for his profound love of family and his companionable life shared with seven Miniature Schnauzers. His passions extended into the worlds of model railroads and military history, interests that he pursued with enthusiasm and thoughtful reflection. A lover of the arts, Peter also cherished attending Shakespearean plays with his wife Loretta, sharing moments that spoke to his appreciation for classic literature and performance. He was also a published poet, contributing to the literary world with his thoughtful and evocative verse
Peter was the beloved husband of Loretta (née Coley) Grimaldi, and the caring brother of Carol Hinderhofer (Rich) and Kathleen Moore (Harry). He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephew, as well his many friends, colleagues, and acquaintances.
A Visitation will be held in Peter’s honor on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life service commencing at 11:00 AM, allowing friends, family, former students, and colleagues to come together and celebrate the profound impact Peter had on so many lives.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Peter would be appreciated to Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, P.O. Box 125, Strasburg, PA 17579.
