Peter R. Forrest, born on February 25, 1940, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of remarkable achievements and cherished memories. He was a distinguished figure in the world of business and scientific industry, serving as the Executive Vice President at VWR International and later as President at VWR CanLab in Canada. After a well-deserved retirement, Peter continued to make an impact as President of Thomas Scientific in Swedesboro, NJ.
His military service was marked by commendable dedication, having served in the United States Army where he earned a marksman badge. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Peter was known for his generous spirit and his unwavering support as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He was recognized as a hard worker with ambitions that propelled him forward, all while maintaining a sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. He had been an active member of the Presbyterian Churches both in West Chester and Wayne, faithfully serving on committees, including the Finance Committee and as an Usher with Sunday services.
Pete had a profound love for gardening and a particular interest in history, especially the Civil War era. He was an enthusiastic sports fan, with a special fondness for baseball. His collection of sports memorabilia stood as a testament to his passion, and he thoroughly enjoyed attending sports events, proudly cheering for the Patriots and the Phillies.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elsa S.C. (Nee Miguez) Forrest; children, Robin Ann Forrest (Michael), Paul Francis Forrest (Tuyet), and John Patrick Forrest (Dr. Nicole); grandchildren, Zachary David, Liana Sarah, and Asher John; and siblings, Faith Buscone (Joe), Thomas Forrest (Kathy), and Alberta Fitzpatrick (Bob) as well as many nieces and nephews in the New England States.
Pete was preceded in death by his beloved parents, the late James and Eva (Nee Houde) Forrest, and by his brothers, James P. Forrest, Dennis Forrest, and Paul Forrest, as well as his sister, Jacqueline O’Rourke.
A viewing will be held at The Donohue Funeral Home, located at 366 W Lancaster Ave, Wayne, PA on July 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at the same location at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens Cemetery, King of Prussia. PA.
Pete will be remembered fondly for his contributions to both his professional community and his family, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.
