Peter Charles Farinella

Peter Charles “Pete” Farinella, age 94, of Gainesville, FL, formerly of Delaware County, PA, passed away on January 7, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Sebastian and Maria Farinella (nee Amadio).

Pete's passions were varied yet deeply rooted in the joy of companionship and the beauty of nature. He delighted in the spirited camaraderie of bowling, where laughter echoed through local alleys, and competition turned into cherished memories. His love for playing cards, particularly pinnacle, revealed not only his strategic mind but also his fondness for shared moments, as he often gathered with friends and family around the table, engaged in friendly rivalry and delightful banter.

Pete spent countless hours tending to his yard and garden, imbuing each plant and flower with his tender care. The lush green spaces and blooming blossoms reflected his nurturing spirit, a testament to his belief in the restorative power of nature.

Above all, Pete treasured the time spent with his wife, Maryanne, of 46 years as well as his family, weaving a tapestry of love and warmth. His presence was a beacon of comfort, his laughter a balm for weary hearts.

Pete was the beloved husband of Maryanne Farinella (nee Cialella); beloved father of Linda Farinella, Karen Farinella, Peter Farinella (Karen), Debra Kotze (Robert), James Cialella (Patricia) and Tracy Polyak; caring brother of Anna Fletcher and Bea Dienna. Also survived by his 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to Pete’s Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Sacred Heart Church, 105 Wilson Ave, Havertown, PA 19083. Interment Private.
