Pauline R. Jarek (nee Harrison), age 77, of Essington, PA, passed away on December 22, 2025.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Gloria Harrison (nee
Montague). Her family then moved to Secane, PA. She then graduated from Ridley High School.
She met her husband, Walter Jarek, on a blind date. Not soon after, they were married and settled
in Essington, Tinicum, where they raised six children. As if six were not enough, they took in her
disabled aunt, Joyce, who quickly became part of the family!
At times, raising such a large family could be challenging while trying to make ends meet. Their
children never really knew or felt it! At “The Jareks” there was never a dull moment! It was busy
but their door was always open to all! Actually, they never locked it! Everyone was there! You
did not even need to be invited! The summers especially- Pool parties, BBQs and family
gatherings were always happening! Our mother had super power qualities! She made things
happen! Somehow, she could take what she had on hand and feed the town’s people! Aunt
Pauline had a special bond with her nieces and nephews; she was a second mom to them as well
as her friends’ children and her grandchildren’s friends! She was warm and loving with a tough,
stern exterior!
Her greatest passion was nurturing her family- her grandchildren meant everything to her! She
made sure she had a special bond with each one of them! Her home was open to all. After raising
her children, she lovingly took on the role of caregiver for her grandchildren as her adult children
pursued their careers- all while she ran her own cleaning business for 25 years.
Walt and Pauline were strong in their faith and belief in the Lord and raised their children to love
Jesus! They were active members and very involved in their church. Pauline was involved in
behind the scenes operations and never wanted to be the center of attention. She contributed her
energy and talents to various activities. She was active in Kids Ministry, an Awana Leader,
volunteered at VBS, and was a teaching truth minister. Her home became a gathering place for
her children and their friends, where laughter resonated during family events. She was
particularly known for her talent in creating lasting memories, whether cooking delicious meals,
sewing, or crafting Christmas cookies that brought delight to her grandchildren during
sleepovers.
Preceded by her late husband, Walter Jarek (2020), her loving daughter, Kelly Ellixson, her

As many of you know, we lost our father during Covid 2020. We were unable to plan services
and properly grieve during that time. Our family finds it only fitting for them to remember as
one! We ask you to join us in remembering them together!
