 Patrick Vincent Rafferty September 12, 1960 – May 15, 2025

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Patrick Vincent Rafferty, who passed away at his home in The Villages, Florida, on May 15, 2025, at the age of 64.

Born and raised in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, Patrick was a proud son of the late Janice A. (née McMonigle) Rafferty and Francis D. Rafferty. His roots in Drexel Hill ran deep, and he often shared colorful stories of his childhood with a sparkle in his eye and a laugh that could light up a room.

Patrick’s early education at Holy Child Academy and Monsignor Bonner High School laid the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. He went on to graduate from Villanova University with a degree in Political Science. A devoted Wildcat, Patrick followed Villanova basketball with unmatched passion and joy.

Patrick dedicated his life to service and leadership. From his early days as a summer police officer at the Jersey Shore to his impactful career with the Department of Defense, and later as Director of Security for SAP America, Patrick led with integrity, strength, and heart. His colleagues remember him not only for his professionalism but for his kindness, humor, and unwavering loyalty.

A true Philadelphian at heart, Patrick was a lifelong fan of the Phillies and the Eagles. He loved reminiscing about games at the Vet and Connie Mack Stadium, and he took immense joy in witnessing two Eagles Super Bowl victories—moments he relived often with family and friends.

Patrick’s love of history and politics was matched only by his love of conversation. His shelves were lined with books on U.S. presidents and historical events, and he could spend hours immersed in a documentary or deep in discussion, always eager to share what he’d learned.

To his family, Patrick was everything. A devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend—he was affectionately known as “Chief” to the little ones who adored him, a cherished title passed down from his own father. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and a sense of home to everyone lucky enough to know him. He was the kind of man who would drop everything to help someone in need, and his stories—often hilarious, always heartfelt—were a window into his generous and spirited soul.

Patrick leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and unforgettable memories.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Maggie LaCroix Rafferty; his siblings, Maureen R. Coleman (Dan) and Michael A. Rafferty; and his sister-in-law, Mary Beth Rafferty. He is also lovingly remembered by his former wife, Karen, and their children, Patrick Rafferty Jr., Brendan Rafferty, and Christopher Rafferty; his stepchildren, Emma Adkins (Max), Jack Howard (Emily), and Lila Howard (Hannah); and his cherished grandchildren, Reagan, Duke, Frances, Teddy, and Otis. Patrick also leaves behind many adored nieces, Colleen, Kelly, Kristin, Katie & Maureen. Nephews, Danny, Frank Rafferty, III, James, Frankie Coleman, Brendan, Matthew, Patrick, Connor, and many loved great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Francis D. Rafferty, Jr., Terence B. Rafferty, and Regina M. “Jeannie” Rafferty Bailey.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Patrick’s life at his viewing on Friday, May 23, at 9:30 AM at Saint Anastasia Catholic Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073.
