Patricia Ann Mowry-Cerritelli (née Hartzell)
June 21, 1932 – February 13, 2026
Patricia “Pat” was a cherished and notable resident of Newtown Square, PA, and of White Horse Village of 22 years, passed suddenly on February 13, 2026 at the age of 93.
Pat was affectionately known for her positive, warm, and outgoing personality that was constant in her life.
She was an engaged member and past President of P.E.O. (Chapter A1), a member of Swarthmore Presbyterian Church, an active volunteer for an arts and music program for children, as well as a devoted participant at White Horse Village. Her musical and vocal talents expressed at chorus at White Horse Village were truly admired as was her gardening talents.
She shared her love of a good novel with others and also participated in book club, “Spirit” group, bridge group, while residing at White Horse Village, and found delight traveling abroad with her late husband.
Patricia was the beloved wife of the late John H. Mowry, Sr. who passed in 1985, and of the late Joseph A. Cerritelli, who passed in 2013. She was the devoted mother to daughter, Kim I. Mowry, to son, John H. Mowry, II (the late Carol), and to daughter, Carol A. Smith (Gregory). She was the caring step-mother to Roger Cerritelli, Thomas Cerritelli, Janice Kovolenko, and the late Carol Miller and Linda Cerritelli. Pat was the loving grandmother to Courtney A. Durbin (Sean), John H. Mowry, III (Betsy), Caitlyn A. Smith, Robert C. Smith, and John W. Smith. She was the dear great-grandmother to Cian, Rory, John IV, Lillian, and Kaylee. Pat is survived by her sister, Susan E. Fox, sister-in-law, Peggy W. Hartzell, and nephew, R. Taylor Coffroth, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pat is preceded in death by her two brothers, William S. Hartzell and Richard G. Hartzell.
A Celebratory Service and luncheon will be held at White Horse Village, 535 Gradyville Road, Newtown Square, PA 19073, for family and friends of Patricia on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11: AM, in their auditorium. Interment is private.
Our Mom’s life was a testament to the power of God, love, and community. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
