Patricia M. Finnigan McCall, 76, of West Chester, PA, formerly of Upper Darby, PA, passed away December 31, 2021, after complications from an infection.
Patricia (“Pat”) was born on April 17, 1945 to the late W. Russell and Evelyn S. (nee DePutron) Finnigan in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania. Patricia graduated from Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School (Class of 1963) and worked as a nurse assistant at Main Line Health for more than 25 years.
But her primary focus in life centered around her family - her beloved husband of 54 years, Charles D. “Dan” McCall, her three children, and later, her six grandchildren. Pat and Dan met as kids, Dan the familiar face as the neighborhood’s “Bulletin" paperboy. The two began dating as high school sweethearts at fifteen and were married by the age of 22, their romance and devotion spanning six decades.
Pat had a keen eye and creative spirit, sewing clothes for she and her children that offered a canvas for her sharp fashion sense and style, as well as constantly finding beautiful crafts and décor to make her family’s house a home, where neighbors were family. Christmas was a favorite holiday for Pat in every way possible.
Most of all, Pat lived and breathed for her children and grandchildren, centering her life around their care, development, education and community. She could always be found lending a helping hand and leading a cause at St. Alice, Benchmark, Prendie, Merion and The Prep; the loving mother of Colleen D. McCall-Kirschner (William C.), Katie A. McCall (B. Mackenzie Small), and Daniel McCall (Elizabeth C.); adoring Memom of Nathan, Alex, Andrew, Cormac, Maggie, and Mary Grace; and dear sister of Maureen Hobbs (the late John R.) and James B. Finnigan (Judith).
Services will be private at this time with plans for a public memorial service in the future.
