Patricia Ann Cavaliere

Jun 20, 1940 — Oct 3, 2026

West Chester, PA

With profound love, we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Cavaliere (86) of West Chester, PA, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and faithful servant of the Lord. She passed away peacefully at the home of her son Chris Rechenberg on October 3, 2026 surrounded by her family. Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, kindness and devotion that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Patricia was a woman whose faith in God was the foundation of her life. She trusted in the Lord through every season and found strength, comfort and joy in His presence. Her love for Christ was evident not only in her words, but in the way she cared for others, offered encouragement and welcomed everyone with a loving heart. She will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, spunky sense of humor, inner strength, unending generosity and for the countless ways she made those around her feel loved. Her absence will be deeply felt, but so will the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.

Patricia was born in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late John and Helen Harris. The Harris home was filled with music as her father played many instruments. Pat learned to play the guitar, and there were regular jam sessions in the home, where Pat and her mother would practice harmonizing together. She attended Transfiguration of our Lord Parish school, and West Philadelphia Catholic Girls’ High School (Class of 1958). During her early teen years, Pat and her friends formed a social sorority club, which would meet weekly in high school. Throughout Pat’s life, her sorority group continued to organize meetings and it was a treasured activity for her to gather with her school friends over the years.

A hard working woman, Patricia’s professional career involved being a stenographer, working in the mortgage business after her children began school, and later as a recruiter for a healthcare group.

Patricia met the love of her life, Danny Cavaliere, in 1983 at an event hosted by Parents Without Partners. Pat and Danny hit it off right away and after several years of dating, they tied the knot in 1990. Danny passed away in 1996 after a battle with lung cancer.

She was a longtime member of Crossroads Community Church in Upper Darby, PA. Pat volunteered with Evangelism Explosion, a ministry of her church for almost 20 years, which involved engaging people in discussions about faith. She also volunteered in an after-school program in public schools, Child Evangelism Fellowship, fostering the love of Jesus in the children of her community.

She was a devoted mother to her children, Paul Rechenberg Jr. (Judy), Kurt Rechenberg (Barbara), Chris Rechenberg and the late Cheryl Rechenberg; dear sister of John Harris (Pat), Jim Harris (Nancy) and Helen Harris Moffa (Roy); loving grandmother of Joseph Avon, Carly Rechenberg Greaves (Ben), Geordan Rechenberg Born (Alex), Kyle Rechenberg and Riley Rechenberg; and adoring great-grandmother to Raphina Avon, Hudson Greaves and Callahan Greaves.

Patricia was very fond of her step-children, Daniel Cavaliere (Jean), David Cavaliere (Julie), Joanne Cavaliere Lowman (David), Jennifer Cavaliere Allen (Carl) and the late Joyce Cavaliere. She is also survived by treasured nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kelly Smith, one of Patricia’s nieces, was a humble companion and caregiver to Pat in her final months. The family is extremely thankful to Kelly for her dedication to providing excellent care to our mother.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we rejoice in the assurance of her faith and the promise of eternal life. We take comfort in knowing that she is now resting in the loving presence of her Savior and that one day we will be reunited in heaven.

Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love a gift that will never be forgotten.
