Natalina “Lina” Mortelliti Watson, 93, of West Chester, PA passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025.
Born in 1932 in Philadelphia, PA, Lina was the daughter of the late Pietro and Concetta (née Donato) Mortelliti.
Lina grew up in the close-knit neighborhoods of South Philadelphia and later settled in Springfield, PA. Being the daughter of Italian immigrants, she had strong roots in her Italian heritage and family traditions.
Lina met her husband, Thomas J. Watson, Jr. at Bell Telephone, where she proudly worked for 35 years. She was known to be a dedicated and tireless worker, as she was a receptionist at her son's dental practice into her late 80s.
Lina was distinguished by her gentle spirit and her generosity –always ready to offer a kind word or helping hand. Whether tending to her garden or practicing yoga, Lina cherished life’s simple pleasures. Her fondest moments were those spent alongside her grandchildren, nurturing each one with unwavering support and affection. Lina’s love for her grandchildren was truly boundless; her face would light up whenever they walked through the door, and she relished every opportunity to celebrate their milestones, big and small.
She loved bringing her family together—whether for the Feast of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve or for her Sunday dinners. The Brigantine and Delaware beaches were special to Lina, joyful retreats where her family gathered to relax and make memories.
Family was at the heart of Lina’s world, and her kindness extended to all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She maintained strong connections with lifelong friends and embraced every moment spent with those she loved.
Lina was the devoted wife of the late Thomas J. Watson Jr. (1995); loving mother of Dr. Thomas C. Watson (Ali), Christopher J. Watson (Amy), and Natalie Marsh (Mike); and adoring grandmother of Tara, Dana, Nicole, Conor, Nicholas, Ava, Bridget, and Ryan.
Lina is now reunited in peace with her husband, parents, and her dear brother Anthony Mortelliti and his wife Francis.
She will be remembered for her boundless warmth, the gentle care she extended to others, and the immense love she had for her family–especially her grandchildren.
