Mr. Joseph Ithen

Joseph A. Ithen, age 99, of Broomall, PA, passed away on March 17, 2018.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Albert and Catherine (nee Mang) Ithen. Joseph worked as an Appliance Repair Man for Philadelphia Gas Works.
PFC Joseph A. Ithen was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action near Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer, Normandy. He left a sheltered position during the invasion to rescue several wounded men from a vehicle shattered by artillery fire.
Joseph is predeceased by his wife Elizabeth S. Ithen (nee Shillingsburg). He was the loving father of Paul J. Ithen (Janet) of Broomall, PA; devoted grandfather of Derek and Michele; and dear brother of the late Albert Ithen and Margaret VanHee.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing 7:00-9:00 PM Monday, March 26, 2018 and 9:00-10:00 AM Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-353-6300, followed by his Funeral Service 10:00 AM. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
