Mr. Edward Smith, Jr.

Edward Woolman Smith, Jr. of West Brandywine, PA passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at his home.
He was born March 14, 1928 to Edward and Elsie Smith in New York City. On October 3, 1953 he married Helen T. Bilowz in Medford, Massachusetts. Ed graduated from Admiral Farragut Academy and Pennsylvania Military College. He served in the Army Chemical Corp. as an instructor. He enjoyed a 35-year sales and marketing career at DuPont.
Ed loved to build furniture, restore antiques, carve whimsical wood Santa's and create stained glass. His passions included travel throughout the world, antique collecting, gardening, fishing and reading. He loved spending time in Cape Cod and winters in Florida. Family and friends were so important to him, he will be missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years, Helen; his two sons Andrew Smith and Mark Smith, his daughter Lynda Smith and 6 grandchildren: Amanda, Cory, Tyler, Eddie, Dylan and Aiden.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday, February 23 at St. Peter Church, West Brandywine, PA. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM followed by Mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will immediately follow at All Souls Cemetery.
