Michele Elizabeth DiSalvatore left this earth on June 7, 2026. Born to Tom and Joan (Marchetti) near Thornton, Pennsylvania on September 2, 1987, she was the youngest of their four children. She graduated from West Chester East High School in 2006, attended Bloomsburg University for a couple of years before finding her passion as a massage therapist. Michele was an intuitive and physical healer who practiced massage therapy, Reiki, and other healing modalities at several locations over her career, but most of her time was spent at Joseph Anthony Retreat Spa and Salon in Glen Mills, PA. She was the type of therapist that once you experienced her talents, you’d become a regular client. This was one of her many gifts.
Growing up, she was an accomplished athlete, excelling in volleyball and softball. She also possessed a natural talent for swimming - perhaps even surpassing her siblings - but joined the sport more out of family influence than personal passion. Even then, her independent spirit was evident. She marched to the beat of her own drum and was solidly rooted in making her own decisions. She enjoyed drawing and doodling as a child and later took her artistic expression to her tattoos. Every tattoo had special meaning to her.
She was a devoted aunt and sister who moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in April 2019 to follow her older sister, Dana, and brother-in-law, Stephen, who had relocated there for a few years. She wanted to maintain a close bond with her nephew, Hudson, and niece, Leah. They all found joy together bike riding, hiking through the foothills, and exploring the Southwest.
You could often find Michele listening to music and making mixed CDs for family and friends. From a young age, she and her oldest sister, Janine, connected over their love of music and would share songs and artists with each other throughout the years. While living in the west, she often visited Janine and her brother-in-law, Steve, in Colorado to spend time with them and seek new outdoor experiences like mountain biking and camping.
In Albuquerque, she played a pivotal role in helping set up and open the Hacienda Spa at Los Poblanos where she fell in love with the tranquil setting of the surrounding lavender farms and saltwater pools. The wide-open West brought a new perspective to her spirituality and sense of adventure. She grew in expansive ways during her time in Albuquerque. A natural empath, she started to hone her intuitive gifts and received a certification as an Intuitive Life Coach.
She learned to off-road and would often take her beloved Toyota 4Runner, Blackbeard, through the rugged Western landscape. When she returned to PA in December 2022 to spend more time with family, she introduced her big brother, Tommy, to off-roading and went on adventures with him and other childhood friends.
Michele and her mom, Joan, bonded while doing puzzles, watching Dateline, going to movies, and antique shopping. She and her mom were “butt buddies.” Michele was focusing deeply on her own physical health and healing and impressed that upon her dad, Tom. Together, they share a strong-will and disciplined nature.
She was a loyal and fierce protector with a generous soul. Michele’s love language was gift-giving. If she knew you and saw something she thought you’d love, she would get it for you without needing a reason. She was not much for small talk, favoring deeper conversations and was comfortable sitting in silence. She placed great devotion on family and loved the big, frequent gatherings and had close connections with many of her cousins. This included her “chosen family” of friends who were near and dear to her heart. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, bright light, and infectious, goofy “DiSalvatore” laugh, which she shared with each of her siblings.
To say Michele will be greatly missed is a vast understatement as she left us too soon. She’ll be cherished in memory by her parents Tom and Joan; siblings Janine (Steve), Tommy, and Dana (Steve); nephew Hudson and niece Leah; many close-knit cousins, aunts and uncles; her three cats, Chester, Charlie, and Ruthie; her “best buds” (you know who you are); and friends, coworkers, and clients near and far.
She is now reunited with her grandparents, Nani and Pop-Pop DiSalvatore (Rita and Dominick) and Mom-Mom and Pop Marchetti (Mary and John), her uncle John Schiavo, her Godmother and aunt Jeanie, and many other loved ones.
Until we meet again, Shelly Bell.
