Michael A. Thomas

Michael A. Thomas, 80, of West Chester, PA went home to be with the Lord on Saturday February 3rd, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Isaac and Rita (Mazella) Thomas. He was the loving and proud husband of Rita (Gryzewski) Thomas.

Michael will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his daughters; Kimberly Thomas Sherlock (Steve Buonato), Nancy (Thomas “Henry”) McCloskey, and Jill (Paul) Chambers. His grandchildren; Samantha (Andrew) Trolio, Jake (Madison) Sherlock, Brian Sherlock, Gabriella Gizzio, Colin Chambers, Rubie Chambers, Shea Chambers, and Kelsey Chambers. His brother Richard (Joanne) Thomas and predeceased by brother George Thomas. His brother-in-law Len (Nancy) Gregory and predeceased by brother-in-law Tom (Tammy) Gregory. He will also be missed by his five nieces and nephews.

Michael graduated at the top of his class from Drexel University. He went on to become a CPA. Despite becoming disabled at the age of 30 he persevered and opened his own CPA firm. Later in life, he joined Creative Financial Group as a Financial Planner.

Michael was full of wit, wisdom, and enough courage for ten others. He was an inspiration to all that he encountered throughout his joyous life. Michael and his wife Rita cultivated the most resilient marriage over their 58 years together. He enjoyed traveling (especially cruises), spending time with family and friends, and reading. Kim, Nancy, and Jill feel beyond blessed to call Michael their father. He was the best Pop-Pop to all of his grandchildren. He never missed a game, play, or dance. His family will forever cherish every special memory made with him. He was an avid fan of all Philadelphia sports, especially the Phillies and Eagles. Mike never missed a game and could always be found screaming “alright, alright, alright” at the television. A game was always made better when he was joined by his best friend and brother Rich. A quote that Mike lived by was “Good, better, best. Never let it rest. Until the good is better and the better best.” Mike will forever be the best.
