Michael Posse, of Glenolden, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 23, 2025, at the age of 70. He was the son of the late Vitus (Myland) McDonough and Joseph Posse, and is survived by his stepfather, Harry Myland.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Madeline “Lynn” Posse (Di Perro), with whom he shared more than 30 years together.
Michael loved being surrounded by family and was a loyal friend who found his greatest joy outdoors. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing for trout and salmon, making many memorable trips to the Salmon River in Pulaski, New York. He also loved saltwater fishing along the New Jersey coast. Two of his most cherished adventures were fishing trips to Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula, experiences he spoke of with pride. Anyone who knew Michael has a fishing story to tell; if you knew him, chances are he took you fishing; especially his children and grandchildren, and loved every minute of it.
Michael was a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan who loved cheering on his teams.
He spent many years serving his community, including a long tenure at The Ale House in Newtown Square, where he was known for his approachability and kindness. He later retired after years of public service with Delaware County.
He is survived by his children and grandchildren: his daughter Melissa Posse and her wife Stephanie Posse, and their daughter Stella Posse; and his daughter Samantha McGuckin (Posse), and her wife Stephanie McGuckin, and their children Jameson and Octavia McGuckin.
He was preceded in death by his stepsons Michael Kirby and Jason Kirby, and is survived by Jason Kirby’s children, Jason Jr. and Brooke.
Michael is also survived by his siblings: Linda Holohan (Posse), Drew Posse, Mark Posse, Joe Posse, Chris Posse, and Jeanne Posse, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Michael will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his devotion to family, and the lasting impact he had on those around him.
