Michael Peter Martin

Michael Peter Martin, 68, of West Chester, PA, passed away suddenly July 7, 2026.

Born July 2, 1958 in Darby, PA, he was a son of the late James F. and Rose A. (nee Anderson) Martin.

Mike was a graduate of St Anastasia School, Marple Newtown High School, and Temple University. He was a hardworking, successful salesman in the label printing industry for many years.

Mike was a devoted Philadelphia sports fan and a faithful Catholic who looked forward to attending Mass every week. He found joy in relaxing on the beach and cherished time spent with his family above all else. You could always find him rooting for the Phillies and Eagles, or catching whatever golf tournament was on television. Spending summers vacationing down at the Jersey Shore and listening to live music were among his favorite ways to unwind.

Most important to Mike, however, was his large Irish family. Growing up as one of ten children in “the heights,” he created friendships and lasting memories that spanned his entire life. In his later years, nothing brought him more joy than watching his grandchildren excel on the stage and watching his grandsons play little league—whether cheering from the sidelines or following along on the GameChanger app. Mike never missed a milestone; whether it was a chorus concert, a school musical, or a basketball game, Poppi was always there, waiting with a big hug and smile.

Michael was the loving husband of Mary for 41 years; the father of Katelyn Colden (Bob), Michael Martin (Laura), and Brynne Finnegan (Tim); adoring Poppi of Cassidy, Ryan, James, Matthew, Michael, Martin, and Quinn; and dear brother of Rose Ann Rosenstock (Todd), James Martin (Renee), Maureen Alf (Ronald), Joseph Martin, John Martin (Ellen), Thomas Martin, Therese DeRita (Marc) and Chris Martin (Lorrie). Michael was predeceased by his sister, Cathy Moore.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Friday, July 17, 2026 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester PA, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM at Saints Simon and Jude 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19382. Interment at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
