Michael C. Mongiello, Jr., age 84, of Devon, PA, passed away on May 18, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Elvera (nee Galli) and Michael C. Mongiello, Sr.
Michael’s professional journey was marked by dedication and earnest endeavor as a salesman in the Cosmeceuticals Industry. Yet beyond his vocation, his spirited personality—compassionate, passionate, and remarkably intelligent—endeared him to so many. To know Michael was to appreciate a man of rare depth, unwavering in his principles and earnest in his connections with others. Beyond his career, he served his country honorably, serving in the army during the post-World War II era, a testament to his sense of duty and patriotism.
A man of diverse interests and pursuits, Michael embraced life fully. His love for golf, fishing, and boating spoke to his love of the outdoors, while his enjoyment of bowling and trivia underscored a keen intellect and playful spirit. He was a devoted history buff, finding joy and insight in the tales of days gone by, and equally passionate about baseball and music. Behind the scenes, Michael’s talents as director of CYO plays revealed a creative soul whose leadership and vision inspired community and camaraderie alike. The family vacations he cherished at Long Beach Island were some of his favorite memories, where he spent time nurturing bonds with those he loved most.
Michael was the beloved husband of Marion Mongiello (nee Bonnette), loving father of Michael C. Mongiello, III (Lisa), Martin Mongiello (Stormy), Joseph E. Mongiello (Devon), and step-father of William Fries (Lisa). Also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepdaughter Marion Fries.
Family and friends are invited to Michael’s Viewing from 10:00-10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 27th at St. Norbert’s Church, 6 Greenlawn Rd, Paoli, PA 19301, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
