Michael Emidio Durinzi

It is with great sadness that his family announces the death of Michael Emidio Durinzi, age 62. He passed away at his home in West Chester, PA on February 4, 2023 after a courageous battle with ALS FTD.

Mike D had a larger than life personality that filled every room he entered. He was genuinely interested in everyone he met, and he brought that energy and love to every aspect of his life, from his storied career in yearbook photography as a top salesman and owner of Carl Wolf Studio, to award winning successes with Herff Jones and Lifetouch, to his love of all things sports. He was a passionate hockey player and cyclist, and an avid Eagles and Flyers fan. And he was a friend to so many, too numerous to count. 

Most of all, Michael adored and lived for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Alison (nee Cicerchi) Durinzi; daughters Michelle Durinzi, Renee Ryan, Andi Ryan Hamel (Stephen) and Marissa Durinzi (Josh Overdorf), son Nick Durinzi; grandchildren Lily, Aurelia, Jaina, Russell, and Thomas; and siblings Marci Golfen, Joseph Durinzi, Cecelia Watson, Marianne Durinzi, and Theresa O’Connell.

Despite his disease, Michael never lost his spirit, even taking a brief ride on his bike just a few days before his death. Anyone who knew him, knows he didn’t go down without a fight.

Family and friends are invited to visit beginning at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 18, 2023 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA, followed by a Remembrance Service at 12:00 Noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the ALS Association or The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.
