Michael R. Bernot, 90, of West Chester, PA passed away on July 4, 2018. Born in Mt. Carmel, PA in 1928, Michael was the son of the late Michael V. and Mary (Kabasevich) Bernot. He graduated from Bloomsburg University and earned his Master's degree. Michael worked for 35 years in the Ridley School District as an Assistant Principal, Teacher (math and history), Athletic Director and Coach of football and baseball. Michael was an avid bowler and was selected Outstanding Bowler of Delaware County Senior Games, was inducted into Ridley Township Hall of Fame, and inducted into the International Bowling Hall of Fame for two 300 games in 2001 and 2003. Michael played football, basketball, baseball and participated in track and field (discus, shot put, javelin and high jump). He won Award for the Most Outstanding Contribution to Mount Carmel High School as an athlete (10 Varsity Letters). Michael was inducted into the Ed Romance PA Sports Hall of Fame in 2005. Michael was also known for his gardening skills. Michael was the beloved husband of the late Dolores (Anania) Bernot; loving father of Michael V. Bernot (Joane Zeitz), Paul Bernot (Brenda) and Rachelle Miele; devoted grandfather of Nicholas and Christopher Miele and Michael Bernot; dear brother of Rosemarie Burns (the late Robert) and her family, the late Joseph (Jane) and the late Francis; dear brother-in-law of Mary Shearn (William) and family. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing 10:00-11:00 AM Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2130 Franklin Ave, Morton, PA 19070 followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM.
