Michael Amersek, III, 75, of Downingtown, PA, passed away on June 15, 2026.
Born March 25, 1951 in Carlsbad, NM, he was a son of the late Michael Amersek, II, and Mettie (nee Bond) Amersek.
Michael and family moved to Farmington, NM where, at the age of 4, he survived being lost alone in the Moab desert outside of Utah for three days. Michael went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After the war he attended Penn State University where he received his BA in Liberal Arts. Moving to Deleware County, PA after graduation he met and was soon married to Alice Jean Haday.
Michael raised his family in Frazer, PA then Downingtown, PA and retired as the manager of an auto parts distributor. Michael went on to start a woodworking hobby that blossomed into a communal woodworking shop known as the Mole Hole. The shop became known by local friends and fellow woodworkers and whenever the neon Pabst Blue Ribbon sign was lit in the window they were welcome to come in and enjoy a beverage and sprightly conversation warmed by a cast iron wood stove.
Michael was the loving father of Michael Amersek IV (Lindsey) and his daughter Stephanie Binkley (Jeremy); adoring grandfather of five grandchildren including Michael Amersek V; dear brother of Phillip Amersek (Carli) and Angel Arcadia (Jim) as well as Jacquelin Dehart (decd) and Lisa Lei Herber (decd).
Michael was a kind father and loyal friend - providing for his family and supplying thoughtful conversation and acerbic humor to his friends.
