Melvin Canfield

Melvin D. Canfield, Sr., 74, of Secane, Pa passed away on March 14, 2018. He was the son of the late Douglas D. and Reta (nee Taylor) Canfield. He served in the US Navy and had been employed as a power plant operator at the Philadelphia Navy Yard before his retirement. He enjoyed reading, watching the Eagles play, the National Geographic and History channels, woodworking and leather working. He also had an avid interest in Harley Davidson motorcycles and recently celebrated 36 years of sobriety. He was a family man who deeply loved and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. His great-granddaughter MaryJane was an added addition who brought much joy to his life. Mel is survived by his beloved wife Marian R. Canfield (nee Carhart), loving children Melvin D. Canfield, Jr. (Melissa), Catherine Cotton (Tom), Theresa Brown (Glen Bastas), Michael Canfield (Kris Lin), grandchildren Melvin III, Jessica, Allison, Dylan, Mariah, Collin, Andrew, great-granddaughter MaryJane and brother Robert Canfield (Sharon). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed by everyone .
