Melissa Anne Bargo (nee Miller) of Glen Mills, PA, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026 at the age of 47.
She was born on July 26, 1978, the third of four children to Joseph T. Miller, Sr. and Susan T. Miller in Media, PA. Melissa grew up in Prospect Park, PA where she was a standout student-athlete. She graduated from Interboro High School in 1996 and then attended Slippery Rock University, where she met the love of her life and husband of 24 years, Travis. After graduating from Slippery Rock in 2000, Melissa decided to become a Pharmacist and attended Temple University where she obtained her Doctorate and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Melissa and Travis were married in 2001 and together they raised their three sons, Travis, Ben and Andy. They were her greatest pride and the truest reflection of her love. Melissa worked as a Pharmacist for Walgreens and later for Express Scripts, where she excelled as always and quickly ascended to a managerial role. She also obtained her MBA from The University of Hartford in 2021 and again graduated Summa Cum Laude while working full time and raising her three boys. Melissa's abilities truly knew no bounds, but beyond her many talents and achievements, Melissa had a remarkable heart and a one-in-a-million personality. To know Melissa was to know a loyal friend, a fierce advocate, a strong-willed and immensely capable person. She never met a challenge too big to overcome, or failed a friend in need. She’d show up to help you tile a floor or sew some drapes. She’d organize a neighborhood book club to keep her friends connected. She’d joyfully host Thanksgiving for 25 people without skipping a beat.
Liss prioritized quality time and travels with her family, never missed a game if her boys were playing, and somehow still excelled in her career and, together with Trav, raised her boys with more love than most people will know in three lifetimes.
We will miss hearing Liss spontaneously burst into a song (or rap.) We will miss her incomparable sense of fashion and big personality. We will miss her quick laughter, and even quicker grammar policing. But most of all, we will miss her heart for family and a love so clearly demonstrated that it could never be mistaken or denied.
Melissa is survived by her husband, Travis, and her three children, Travis, Ben and Andy; her parents, Joseph T. Miller, Sr. and Susan T. Miller; her mother and father-in-law, Norman and Joyce Bargo; her siblings, Joseph T. Miller, Jr. (Jodi), Stephanie M. Corfee (Nick); and Jeffrey D. Miller (Laura); 10 nieces and nephews and countless friends, colleagues and neighbors who loved her dearly.
A Memorial Service will be held for Melissa at Sts. Simon and Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19382 on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:45am with a Memorial Mass to follow at 12 noon. Interment private.
We want to extend our thanks to Sts. Simon & Jude Parish and the team at Penn Medicine Hospice for their generous support and constant care these past months. We are so very grateful. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Melissa's name to Saints Simon and Jude School, 6 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19382.
