Maureen Preston, 89 of Malvern, PA, passed away on August 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving children and daughter in law.
Born on January 25, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA, Maureen was the daughter of the late Maurice O’Connor and Sara (nee McCunney) O’Connor.
A graduate of Notre Dame Catholic Girls High School in Moylan, PA and St. Joseph’s University, she found much joy in her career as a schoolteacher. Upon retirement, she volunteered to teach CCD at Our Lady of the Assumption in Wayne, PA.
With devout faith and commitment to the Sacred Heart and Blessed Mother, Maureen made thousands of rosaries that stretched across the world to soldiers overseas as well as the sick and poor at home. She found immense joy in her love of art, and published the book “Jonathan’s Angel” in one of the proudest moments of her life.
Maureen will be remembered for her considerable faith, amazing character, good example, immense kindness, patriotism, love of students, and calm demeanor.
Above all, Maureen was cherished by her family. She was a devoted mother whose love and guidance profoundly shaped the lives of those around her.
