Mary Yankanich

Mary Yankanich, age 96, of Fair Acres in Lima, PA, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2023.

Mary was born in Chester, PA, the eldest of eight children of the late Stephen and Mary (nee Adomnick) Yankanich.  Mary grew up in Milmont Park and Woodlyn and attended Ridley Township High School, graduating in 1945.

Mary was a retired keypunch operator.  She worked for Scott Paper (now Kimberly-Clark) for 38 years.

Mary enjoyed spending time with family and cooking, hosting many family holiday get-togethers and treating them to traditional Polish recipes.  She also enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, adult coloring books and completing many crossword and word puzzles.  She was known and loved for knitting personalized Christmas stockings for her nieces, nephews and their children.

Mary is survived by her sisters, Margie Giger and Judi Sadusky, 25 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sisters, Janet Randall, Barbara Wimer and Betty Boyer, her brothers John Yankanich and Steve Yankanich, sister-in-law Betty Lou Yankanich, and brothers-in-law Gary Giger, Elwood Boyer, Rich Wimer and Frank Sadusky.

Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation 10-11 AM Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Knoetgen-Donohue Funeral Home, 746 Kedron Avenue, Morton, PA.  Funeral service to follow at 11 AM.  Interment at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, 2321 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA.
