Edgmont, PA

Mary Louise Scott (née Manahan), of Edgmont, PA, formerly of Upper Providence, sadly passed away on February 25, 2026, at the age of 82.

Born in London, England, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Madge B. (née Dilloway) Manahan.

Mary found great pleasure in engaging with crossword puzzles, a pastime that showcased her keen mind and quick wit. She was also an avid reader, immersing herself in stories that transported her to different worlds and sparked her imagination.

Her love for knowledge was also evident in her enjoyment of the quiz show Jeopardy, where she would often impress others with her expansive range of trivia and information. Another of her cherished pastimes was watching the beloved soap opera General Hospital, where she delighted in the intricate plots and characters.

Mary had a creative spirit, which she expressed through her hobby of sewing. She took great pleasure in crafting children’s outfits, pouring her love and care into each stitch. Her ability to create something beautiful for others brought her immense joy and satisfaction.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Scott, who were wed almost 50 years; the loving mother of Robert Scott, Jr. (Rene), Barbara Scott (Mark Lewis), Christine Gaydos (Tom), Sherry Lighthall, the late Bryan Scott (Helene), and the late Steven Scott. She was the devoted grandmother of Marysa, Erick, Jenna, Josh, Matthew, Jason, Lila, Tristan, and Vivienne; and the caring great-grandmother of six great-grandchildren. Mary is also survived by her sister, Fran Hansen, and brother, Bill Manahan (Jill).

Services and Interment will be held privately.
