Mary Elizabeth Pagano, 79, of Lansdale, PA, passed away May 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born April 22, 1947 in Madison, WI, she was a daughter of the late Francis C. and Marie E. (nee Klos) Zevnik. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, loving sister and a loyal friend to many.
She attended the Albert Einstein Medical Center School of Nursing in Philadelphia, where she formed lifelong friendships and met her late husband, Tony. Mary began her career as a labor and delivery nurse. She later held various nursing roles before transitioning into the pharmaceutical industry, working in pharmaceutical study management with Teva Pharmaceuticals for 20 years before retiring in 2017.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Mary found joy in the everyday moments that brought people together. She loved cooking and took pride in preparing meals that made her home feel warm and inviting. She had a natural talent for decorating, creating spaces that were both beautiful and comforting. She enjoyed dining out and savoring good food, especially in the company of family and friends. An avid reader, Mary was always eager to learn and explore new ideas, and she followed politics with interest and insight, often engaging in thoughtful conversations. She loved watching movies, and only occasionally spoiled things by asking questions throughout. Above all, she cherished time spent with those she loved—whether gathered around the table, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying one another’s presence. These moments were at the heart of who she was, and they are among the memories her loved ones will hold closest.
Mary was the beloved wife of the late Anthony P. Pagano, Sr.; loving mother of Anthony Pagano, Jr. (Gayle), Christopher Pagano (Jessica), Susan Pagano Beck (Bob), and Elizabeth Pagano Dowdy (Matt); adoring grandmother of Adam Pagano, Liliana Pagano, Angelina Pagano, and Maya McDaniels; and dear sister of Francis “Flip” Zevnik and Ruthelen Zevnik Jester. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Ann Claire.
Mary will be remembered for her warm humor, the wonderful (often rich) meals she cooked for her loved ones, and for always being there whenever we needed advice, a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Services will be private.
