Mary McGuckin (nee Bones) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Beloved daughter of the late John and Ellen (nee Gorman) Bones.
Mary is survived by her children, Maureen Manion (Tom), Catherine Hogg (Randall), and Michael McGuckin (Kris); grandchildren, Jennifer (John), Kristin, Katelyn, Rory, Siobhaun, Jonathan, Evan (Christina), and Connor; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Hailey, Emily, Liam, and Lily; She was predeceased by her husband Frank McGuckin and her four siblings, Tom, Bea, John and Michael.
Mary (aka Mamie) was a much loved wife, mother and mom mom to her children and grandchildren. Mary was born in County Mayo, Ireland and immigrated to the United States in 1950 where she met Frank, the love of her life. They built a wonderful life here, first in Upper Darby, then Broomall and finally retirement in Sea Isle City, NJ. Mary was known for her sweet disposition, happy easy-going ways, always ready with a laugh and a cup of tea. Her quick wit sometimes surprised people and she loved to entertain her grandchildren with her funny Irish songs, poems and sayings. Mary will be greatly missed but we have wonderful memories and she will live forever in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to Mary’s viewing on Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 10:00am to 11:00am at SS Simon and Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA followed by her funeral mass at 11:00am. Interment private.
