Mary Martin “Marti” Mitchell, of Wallingford and Siesta Key, Florida, passed away on September 10, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Marti lived a life marked by energy, humor, and a deep love for her family. She was spirited, independent, and always ready to embrace life. For the last 13 years, she was a resident of Harlee Manor in Springfield, Pennsylvania, where she became part of the community and continued to bring her warmth and personality to those around her. She especially loved when her grandchildren would surprise her with an unexpected outing.

A woman of many talents and interests, Marti pursued her passions with energy and grace. She was a dedicated athlete, finding pleasure in tennis and, perhaps most notably, swimming in the ocean in Siesta Key, where she felt most at home. Her love for the outdoors extended to the golf course; she was a lifetime member of the Rolling Green Golf Club, where she was a well-known presence on the fairways. Beyond her athletic endeavors, she possessed a creative side as a talented jewelry maker, crafting pieces that reflected her artistic spirit. Her commitment to community and sport was further exemplified by her long-standing involvement with Dressage at Devon, an event she supported for many years. When not active outdoors, she enjoyed the mental challenge and social camaraderie of playing bridge.

Marti enjoyed a good glass of wine and was often the life of family gatherings, a quality that only seemed to grow stronger with age. At Harlee Manor, she was known for her determination to enjoy life on her own terms—including, on occasion, finding a way to “smuggle” a little wine into her room. She always seemed to have a phone in her hand and enjoyed playing games on it, both for entertainment and to keep her mind active.

Marti was a devoted matriarch who took immense pride in her family. She was the loving mother of James C. Mitchell (Lisa) and was preceded in death by her beloved son, Dale Mitchell (Adrianne). Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren, Brianna, Taylor, Matt, Jay, and Dylan Mitchell, and her great-grandson, Liam. She will also be deeply missed by her dear sister, Susan Jackson, and her nieces and nephews, Lynne (Andy), Carol (Ryan), Mollie, Wilson, Brook, and Jack, who will remember her with great affection.

Marti will be remembered for the deep love she gave, the quiet strength she embodied, her quick spirit, and the joy she found in family, friendship, and life’s simple pleasures. Her laughter, generosity, and zest for living will remain a lasting gift to all who knew and loved her.
