Mary Jane Moore

Mary Jane Moore (nee Cooper), age 84, of Tioga, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 14, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia, Mary Jane was the daughter of late William and Mary (Hughes) Cooper.

Mary Jane loved hosting family and friends at her home and created many happy  memories with extended family on vacations to the Outer Banks and Finger Lakes Region. Mary Jane was a graduate of John Bartram High School, Class of 1957. In addition to raising her children, Mary Jane enjoyed a long career as a telephone operator starting with the old Bell Telephone Company and ending with her retirement from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 1996.  She loved keeping up with family and friends on social media, playing computer games, and spending time with her beloved dog, Josie.  

Mary Jane was the loving wife of 65 years to David C. Moore; cherished mother to  Kathleen Moore of West Chester, PA; David (Patricia) Moore of Wyomissing, PA, and Steven (Donna) Moore of Sterling, VA; and beloved “Granny” of Trish (Jeff) Simpson, Kasey Moore, Emily (Mark) Sweitzer, Abigail (Andy Perry) Moore, Bailey Moore, and Jackson (Alex) Moore; and great-grandchildren, Allison and Jillian Simpson and David and Valorie Sweitzer.  She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Caroline Moore.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her Visitation on Saturday May 20, 2023, 9:30 to 10:30 AM followed by her Celebration of Life Service, 10:30 AM, at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA, 19073, 610-353-6300. Interment private.
