Mary Ellen Devers, 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 9, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas and Madeline Duffy (nee Cunningham).
Mary Ellen is survived by her husband of 43 years, Patrick Devers Jr.; her daughter, Kara (Ryan) Fawley; and her three stepdaughters, Barbara (Michael) Riley, Cathleen Devers, and Eileen (George) Wainwright. She was especially proud of her five grandchildren Aidan Riley, Sean Riley, Finn Wainwright, Liam Wainwright, and Margot Fawley who lovingly called her Mimi. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by siblings the late Joseph Duffy, Nancy Marriott and Thomas Duffy. She is survived by her siblings Robert Duffy, Michael Duffy and Donna Litte along with her in-laws, and countless nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews who will miss her dearly.
Mary Ellen grew up in Philadelphia. She was a proud graduate of Hallahan High school & St. Joseph University, where she graduated Summa Cum laude. She enjoyed her years of employment at Dun & Bradstreet & Smith Kline Glaxo. Mary Ellen raised her family in Merion Station, PA. Later, she and Pat enjoyed time together in Egg Harbor Twp, NJ and Venice, Fl, before ultimately settling in King of Prussia, PA.
Mimi loved her Irish heritage, playing cards, traveling, and spending time at the beach with a drink of the day in hand. Everyone who knew Mary Ellen knew she was always the life of the party. She was often the first one on the dance floor, encouraging everyone around her to get up and join her. Her warmth, laughter, love of life, and ability to bring people together will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to Mary Ellen’s Visitation 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 West Lancaster Ave, Wayne, PA 19087, followed by her Funeral Service at 12:45 PM. Interment Private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601, would be appreciated.
