Mary Corse Davis

Mary Corse Davis, of Dunwoody Village, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, just three days shy of her 94th birthday.

Mary was born and raised in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, with her two brothers, Jack and Jerry. She attended Dickinson College for a couple of years before working at Sun Oil Company, where she met her future husband, Harry P. Davis. They were married in 1955, and together began their life in Villanova, where their sons Hank and Bill were born. They later moved to Prussian Lane in Wayne, where they welcomed their youngest son, John.

Mary and Harry cherished summer vacations on the lakes of Maine and many happy days golfing at Philadelphia Country Club. When Harry passed away, Mary became a widow at the young age of 54, but her zest for life never diminished. She treasured time spent with dear friends, including Margaret, Mary, Lydia, and Dot, creating lasting memories filled with laughter. She continued to play golf and mow her lawn on her riding mower well into her 70s.

Mary's greatest joy was her family. She took immense pride in raising her three boys and never missed an opportunity to brag about her grandchildren. She also loved reading, caring for the many cats she welcomed into her home over the years, listening to music, enjoying a gin and tonic on the deck in Avalon, and volunteering at the Paoli Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop.

In 2019, Mary moved to Dunwoody Village, where she found new friendships and especially enjoyed being part of the community singing group.

Mary is survived by her sons, Hank (Alice) and John (Lisa); her grandchildren, Jackson (Casey), Kellie (Beau), Jack, Ryan, and Ben. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry P. Davis; her son, William; and her brothers, Jack and Jerry.

Services will be private.

Mary's warmth, humor, resilience, and fun-loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
