Mary D. “Dolly” Carr (nee Stuart), age 94, of Narberth, PA, passed away on October 13, 2025. Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Stuart (nee Timothy).
An avid sports enthusiast, she found joy in the camaraderie of baseball, taking immense pleasure in cheering for her beloved Philadelphia Phillies and nurturing the budding talents showcased during Little League games. The excitement of these games mirrored her spirit—animated, lively, and deeply engaged with the things she loved. As passionate as she was about the Phillies, her true happy place was at the shore in Cape May. The sound of the waves and the salty air were her comfort, as she spent countless summers there, cherishing family memories.
Dolly’s kitchen was the heart of her home, full of home-cooked meals that brought everyone together. When she wasn’t in the kitchen, she could be found lost in a book or taking a nap on the couch. She was also a proud and dedicated employee of the Mainline Times, a job that suited her keen interest in the world and its stories.
Dolly was the beloved wife of the late James V. Carr; loving mother of Charlotte Whisner (the late William), Charles Carr (Margie), James Carr (Laura), Alison Carr and the late Dolores Diehl; adoring grandmother of Kristen, Emma, Jennifer, Billy, and David; beloved sister of Charles Stuart, Charlotte Stuart, John Stuart, Robert Stuart, Joseph Stuart, Tommy Stuart, and Patricia Stuart.
Family and friends are invited to Dolly’s Visitation 10:30-11:30 AM on Friday, October 17, 2025, at St. Margaret of Antioch Church, 208 N. Narberth Ave, Narberth, PA 19072, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM. Inurnment Calvary Cemetery, Villanova, PA.
