Mary Ann Martillotti

February 22, 1965 — December 15, 2023

Mary Ann “Mare” (nee McGrane) Martillotti, was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend who passed away peacefully on December 15, 2023, surrounded by her entire family. She was a beautiful person both inside and out and everyone she touched will remember her for her honesty, compassion, generosity, and kindness.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and is the daughter of Robert McGrane (deceased) and Mary Ann (nee McManus) McGrane, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania who was one of her closest friends.

She leaves behind her loving and devoted spouse Gerard Martillotti, Wayne, Pennsylvania, and her three sons who she adored: Jake Martillotti, Philadelphia, (fiancée Julia Hanson) Matthew Martillotti, Wayne, Pennsylvania and Michael Martillotti, Wayne, Pennsylvania.

Mary Ann’s love for her husband and her boys was extraordinary. She dedicated her life to her children, and they were blessed to have her constant devotion and guidance. She spent countless hours supporting her boys’ academic and athletic pursuits and took great pride in watching them grow into young men with integrity and character.

She was the youngest of seven children and had a special bond with each of her siblings. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. They include Charles McGrane (spouse Karen) Wayne, Pennsylvania, Julie Casey (spouse Pat) Wayne, Pennsylvania, Paul McGrane (spouse Carol) Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Kathy McIntyre (spouse Kevin) Wilmington, Delaware, Frank McGrane (spouse Helen) Wayne, Pennsylvania, and her brother Robert McGrane, deceased.

Mary Ann graduated from Myers High School in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Kings College, and the Dickinson School of Law. She taught 4th grade at Pope John Paul Elementary School in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania for a short time before starting her legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable Edward O’Brien in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. She then worked as a Luzerne County District Attorney before finding a job that would become her home away from home for the next 29 years. At O’Brien and Ryan, LLP, Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, Mary Ann worked her way up from an Associate Attorney to an Equity Partner and part of the firm’s Management Committee. She worked extremely hard successfully handling complex litigation throughout Pennsylvania however her greatest accomplishment in her legal career was the lifelong relationships and friendships she made with her Partners, Colleagues and Co-workers.

In school, Mary Ann excelled as a swimmer winning countless events and setting records that stayed in place for decades in the Wilkes-Barre area. Mary Ann loved to jog, walk, and spend time on her back yard deck tending to her beautiful flowers. She donated her time and energy to numerous civic organizations. She also loved to vacation with her family but was happiest just going for a walk after work holding hands with her best friend and husband G sharing their daily hopes, fears, triumphs, and disappointments.
